Your stories, your journey

(“Groetjes uit…” is Dutch for “Greetings from…” , a nostalgic nod to classic postcards sent from near and far.)
You probably know the type of articles titled ‘10 things you must see in New York’. While handy as a starting point when planning a trip, they often leave you wanting more.
Because what about the scent of street food? The feeling of the wind in your hair on a boat ride, the familiar chaos of traveling with kids, getting delightfully lost, or that friendly wink from a taxi driver?
I want to hear your story.
You don’t need to be a professional blogger, influencer, or travel writer. I’m looking for honest, real moments that stay with you. The best memories often fit on the back of a postcard — so your story doesn’t need to be long (though long-form storytellers are more than welcome!).

Whether it’s a hilarious airport mishap, an unforgettable bus ride, or the best pastry you stumbled upon by taking a wrong turn: this space is for your voice.
Groetjes uit… is the corner on Latcho Drom where fellow travelers take the wheel. No influencer fluff, just authentic field notes from around the world.
Inspiration from my own travel journals
This is how Latcho Drom once began: scribbles, cutouts, sketches, stickers, and ticket stubs kept along the way. What would be written on your imaginary postcard?
Here are a few prompts to spark your inspiration:

Flavors & Senses:
- The soundtrack of my journey
- The biggest flavor burst (or best accidental snack)
- The word or phrase that struck me
On the Road & Unexpected:
- The wrong turn
- The bus or train ride
- The stranger I’ll never forget
- The first night in…
Real life & Family Travel:
- The ‘parenting win’ of the trip
- What I secretly missed from home
- Tourist in my own country
- My home away from home
Short Stories:
- If my trip were a movie
- A souvenir with a story
- What I felt intensely grateful for
- Choose your own theme

How does it work?
